EDEN ISS — Ground Demonstration of Plant Cultivation Technologies for Safe Food Production in Space

CHILDREN’S COMPETITION

The EDEN ISS greenhouse developed by European engineers, architects, scientists, and plant specialists allows people to grow fresh fruits and vegetables anywhere!

School children are invited to join our mission!

  • Open competition for children between the ages 6 and 12
  • Enter competition below by registering and submitting an original artwork based on one of the two themes:

Theme 1: Depict the EDEN ISS mobile greenhouse container in an environment of your choice. (ideas: in Antarctica where it is presently, any place on earth that can benefit from a supply of fresh food, also think about where in space you can imagine growing fresh fruits and vegetables, like on the moon or Mars!)

Theme 2: Imagine yourself working inside an enclosed greenhouse surrounded by your favorite fruits and vegetables. What would your garden look like?

Receive Seeds from Antarctica!

For every entry that is received, one Seed Transportation Package (STP), containing 10 lettuce seeds from Antarctica will be sent to your home! Your task is to grow these seeds into beautiful heads of lettuce for you and your family to enjoy!

The Seed Transportation Package (STP) was packed by Rijk Zwaan in the Netherlands.

Competition start:  24. October 2018

Deadline for entries:   3. February 2019

Winners of the competition win an official EDEN ISS Mission Patch!
